Hello people!
How have you been? I know some of you are having a gala time back home while others are travelling around. But let's take this time even as you read this email to reflect and remember God. As you all may know, recently there have been some staggering events that have happened, namely the Haiti Earthquake and the Malaysian religious attacks. Please pray for these people! That they will remain strong even in the midst of trials and trouble.
Haiti earthquake
Haiti had a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on 12 January. We fear thousands are dead and the numbers are still climbing. Many more are injured and there are rescue efforts going on for people still trapped under rubble. An estimated 3 million have been affected - that’s one in three people in Haiti.
The Haiti earthquake is being labelled the worst natural disaster in Haiti in 200 years. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, troubled by civil unrest, mass unemployment and water shortages, which have all contributed to extensive poverty. These factors combined leave Haiti ill-equipped to cope with a natural disaster of this scale. Nations and organisations are providing relief help for Haiti, but more still needs to be done.
So if there is any form where you can help, be it in monetary or items donations (to WorldVision/Red Cross/Doctors without Borders/UN/Salvation Army etc.) or in prayer, please help.
Malaysia: Religious attacks
As most of you would have known, Malaysia had some religious attacks against (mainly) churches and even a Sikh temple. The attacks came in the wake of a Kuala Lumpur High Court ruling on December 31 that lifted a ban on the use of the word "Allah" to refer to the Christian "God" by the Catholic weekly newspaper Herald, which publishes supplements in the Malay, English, Chinese and Tamil languages. Things have settled a bit, but some debates are still going on about this issue and the political climate in Malaysia is changing. Please pray for unity among ALL the churches in spite of denominations and for a fervent Church to stand firm in His Word.
Let's break away from our complacency and start moving in His Spirit for our nation!
I believe that these things happen for a reason and though we may not understand God's ways now, He is still Sovereign over everything. We just place our trust in Him that He knows what is best and what needs to happen.
Remember the song "Did you feel the mountains tremble"? Let us OCF Clayton unite as one and intercede for our world, because it is us who prepares the way for the Lord to come.
Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one
Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one
And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord
Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice
Did you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokeness
And here we see that God you're moving
A time of Jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

2nd day into 2010!
Hellooo Claytonites!
2 days into the new year; I hope it's been a foreshadowing of how 2010 is going to be your best year ever! I've been ending my cards with, May 2010 be your best year ever, because life with Jesus only ever gets better! And it's true – as God continually grows us, we find Him sweeter because the more we go through, the more God reveals Himself to be faithful and true, among so many other characteristics!
-
I've been thinking about "worship" a lot lately.
What is "worship"? A song?
In the song Heart of worship, Matt Redman writes:
I'll bring You more than a song...
And he goes on,
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
So, what is worship?
Can you hear it as you've sung it many times before?
It's all about You, Jesus
2009 has seen God call Overseas Christian Fellowship Clayton to worship Him through the focus of IMPACT; it has 2 parts to it:
1. In My Presence – we first focus on God; it's all about Him. We need to know what He wants.
2. ACT – then we do it! And again, when we act, it is all about Him.
As a group, we have made an IMPACT through things such as exam prayer, blessing ministry, winter camp (Be ready because I believe), E-night (Playing on broken strings) and Feed-Our-Friends.
How about as an individual? Have I made an IMPACT?
If yes, how so?
If no, how can I do so?
If we haven't taken time to reflect on 2009, and commit 2010 to God, let's take some time to shhh, right now.
-
I think I can say this on behalf of us all, from every Claytonite to every other Claytonite – thank you ALL for making 2009 such a great year! Really! Partnering with God; the fun, the friendship, the laughter, the events, the badminton, the pressing through and encouragement, the Bible studies, the prayer, and the making/eating of supper, to name a few!
Okiedokes. May 2010 be your best year ever, because life with Jesus only ever gets better! :D
In His love and mine,
Faith (:

Hope you haven't forgotten OCF already! :D
Haluo dear Claytonites!
Hope the summer hols are finding you still standing and not melting in the heat!
You guys remember Sheen Li right? She's leaving Melbourne for good in a few days time :( Did you all read her testimonial in the Thanksgiving booklet? It was good stuff right! She's got another testimony to share:
See, God works in our life. And God works through prayer!
You know just the other day on the train in Singapore looking out the window, I thought – God, to thank You with my life. Or it'd be no thanks at all!
God,my God.
My prayer-answering God,
my strength,
my joy,
my peace,
my reward.
Mine.
Good grades, bad grades,
seemingly good seasons, seemingly bad seasons; all seasons –
still, a sovereign God who has all things in His hands – He's still in control.
A personal God. A real God. My God.
Who is this God/"God", to me?
Be it play, work, catching up with friends, reading a book, talking to Him, soccer, honouring our parents, anything – it all can be a worship unto Him. Shall we choose to make our lives a worship unto Him, then?
Stay happies everyone!
In His love which makes us happies,
Faith! (:

I had only a day to prepare for my last exam paper and was so stressed that I thought of giving up and retaking it the next semester. However that night I asked some of the exam "prayer warriors" to pray for me. Among all my papers, I prepared the least for this, but scored the highest for it! Thank God for His gracious provision of a paper that I could do, such a result, and being there for me when I needed Him most!
See, God works in our life. And God works through prayer!

Dear God... (Thanksgiving + Prayer)
Dear God, thank You for being so faithful! For being our provider and guide, for seeing us through the past year. Thank You for watching over each and every one of us, helping us get through this year and the exams! Thank You for your grace, for without which, we would not be where we are today. Amen!
Yes everyone! Thanksgivings are in order! How can we not celebrate the goodness of God together this Friday (20 Nov)! We'll be at the Elwood Beach House, 6 - 10pm. It costs only $50 (consider the good food, great view – go earlier to walk the beach – and awesome company); register with your cell leaders by Wed! It's the one last time this year together as OCF Clayton before everyone goes wherever; unity and love! So c'mon everyone! Eh. Don't regret not coming ah.
Also. Prayer! It's been good to see some familiar faces most mornings (: Let's all come together to pray for the remaining few who have exams, and also have good fellowship with God and friends. If you can't make it, let's try to make it for at least Thursday's – the last one of the year. 9.30am, Narthex room at religious center.
You know why we pray? Well there are a whole host of reasons. But there's just one I learnt recently – we pray because God wants us to. Because He wants to fellowship with us. Now how cool is that. GOD wants to fellowship with us! (:
So okiedokes, see you soon peoples!
In His higher-that-the-heavens and deeper-than-the-oceans, always for you love,
Faith! (:

Brief Updates for this week:
Prayer; Weekdays 9.30am @ Narthex, Religious Center
Hey people, I know its kinda early for some of you but it is worth sacrificing a little of your sleep to come for prayer. For the past two weeks, we have experienced a great time getting together, supporting one another in prayer and just soaking in God's presence before brunching and mugging in the library for the rest of the day.. So yeah, do come and join us! At least once a week?? :)
Thanksgiving; 20 Nov 2009 night @ Elwood beach
$50 only! Sign up with your cell leaders today!
It is time to start planning and hunting your "costumes and attires" for the night! What a great excuse to go shopping eh.. :D
Also, don't forget about the respective presentation that each group is required to perform on that night! Start brainstorming..
Ps: For those who are still contemplating on whether to go for it or not, stop wasting your time contemplating and stop being so fickle minded.. Just go for it! :P
Homecell; Friday
I trust that you guys have enjoyed last Friday with your respective cells despite the exam period.. More updates about this Friday from your cell leaders. Do take the opportunity to invite your friends along and share the love of God!
And Yeap! I guess that's all for the announcements that we have for this week..
Before I sign off, just wanna encourage you guys with this verse:
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding,
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight
Some of you guys may have had a tough week, some of you a smooth - sailing week, some of you may be having big decisions to make as the year-end approaches and well some of you are probably still oblivious to what you'll be doing during the holidays....But all in all guys, just as the verse says in Proverbs, have faith and trust in the Lord! Whatever that your heart is desiring for, surrender it to the Lord, trust in him that He will take care of it, and continue praying and believing that it will take place some day, some time.. For the Word of God also states in
Matthew 21:22 - If you believe, You will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Amen!
As for now, take care and God bless Ya!!
Love,
Sabrina!

No more class for the next 4 months! Whee!
Hello folks!
GASP SCHOOL'S OVERRRRR! Okay, this sem at least (: Everyone did a brilliant job in surprising your leaders – CGLs you all felt very loved right, and there was lots of laughter in the place – good sign that we all had fun!
Brief updates:
Exam prayer, 9.30am, starting Monday
At Narthex room in the religious center (round-ish building between Matheson and campus centre). It may seem a chore to wake early and dedicate an hour to prayer and praise, but those of us who've done this before can testify that hey, it actually gets enjoyable and we look forward to the daily fellowship (we go for breakfast at the campus centre after, usually)!
Even if you can't make it daily, do try to come at least once a week (:
Blessing ministry, 26-30 Oct (Mon-Fri)
Coming together to bless our campus; outside Matheson library, 5 - 7pm (come 4.45 to help set up)!
Cell duty:
Mon: Starphish + GGG
Tue: Hippie Ephes + Onion Titans
Wed: On Cor + Coco Pops
Thu: Starphish + Hippie Ephes
(Decided not to do on Friday cos library closes at 6pm, and there's homecell after)
Home cells, Friday nights
Instead of meeting at R3, we'll meet in homes or wherever your cell chooses, for the exam period. More details from your cell leader coming soon!
In this season of (mostly) crazy mugging, let us remember to abide in Him, and He will abide in us and give us sufficient grace! Let us also remember to love one another, encouraging and spurring each other on (read John 15)!
Have a good weekend, and see you guys on Monday morning if I do!
:) Love, Faith

Week 13: We made it!
Hey champions!
Week 13 here! WHOA! Who would've thought we've made it this far? =) Just as many have shared during T-time, it's really truly only by God's grace that we're here. Rmb that God does not destine for us to waddle around on the ground with chickens, but to SOAR on wings of eagles with Him - way up above storms and circumstances. So let's do just that - together! =)
A SONG TO SHARE
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"i'm with you"
As Your mercy falls
I'll raise my hands
And praise the God who gives and takes away
I'll praise You in this storm
and i will lift my hands
You are who You are
No matter where i am

"i'm with you"
As Your mercy falls
I'll raise my hands
And praise the God who gives and takes away
I'll praise You in this storm
and i will lift my hands
You are who You are
No matter where i am

Week 12: Falalalala lalalala
Helooooo Claytonites (unite)!
'Tis the season to be jolly, falalalala lalalala!
Okay maybe not, it being a season of mugging as the exams are drawing near. But you know what?
Matthew 6:33 says, Take care of God's things, and He'll take care of your things (Okay that's an interpretation. In the NIV it says, "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well") which I thought was –
Wow. How true. When we are intent on seeking God first, we are entrusting the other areas of our life to Him; He takes care of it all. That is not to say that we irresponsibly not study, but it does mean that God takes first place, above our studies.
So remember; if you're feeling a little stressed or upset or things are going not-as-well-as-you-hoped, Matthew 6:33. Sing a song. Talk to Him about your day. Read a chapter of the Bible. Be still before Him. Anything! Find time to be renewed in His presence, because in His presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11) (:
-
This week in a snapshot:
Wed prayer, 12-1pm, Campus center basement piano rooms
Change in time slot to an hour earlier than the norm so more people can make it! Prayer is a way of telling God that we are dependent on Him and not ourselves; God's abundance matches our dependence!
Friday OCF, 7pm, R3
Wow what a great testimony last week from Tim and Glenda about the Belyuen mission trip huh? The trip, for the whole team, is only the beginning of God opening our eyes and moulding us for His plans and purposes. It'll be YOUR TURN to go next time okay! (: Anyways. Friday. Last Bible Study – we're wrapping up Ephesians, studying the very essential Armour of God which we need to put on in constant spiritual battle! See you at 6.20pm before for prayer if you can make it alright!
See you sooooon!
In His all-encompassing love (a love which holds, surrounds, encloses you; you're safe and snug in His love. Nothing can separate you from it!),
Faith! (: <3

Back from Belyuen!
Hello awesome peoples of the earth!
How are you guys doing! A team of us representing Clayton just got back from a mission trip to Darwin (Belyuen community) on Tuesday morning and we missed each other so much, we met for dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday. Haha. I bet we had a better one week than all of you :P
Okay honestly, it was a really good trip and we enjoyed ourselves loads. God did so much in us and through us, we want to share it with you guys! We'll do that at OCF this Friday at 7pm at R3 so come and have a look and listen as we share our hearts ad what your contributions did ya! There'll be Bible Study too, where we'll be continuing our study of Ephesians, looking at how to live wisely and what Biblical submission is.
And of course, we must come with expectations. It is not just another Friday night with OCFers, it is another opportunity for fellowship and an encounter with however God will choose to reveal Himself in those whose hearts are open and hungry! So let's come expectant okay? Join for prayer at 6.20pm before that too! Prayer is a time where we say – God we are nothing without You; we present our requests before You – You work, God!
Just one other thing – CONVY! 9-13 Dec '09 at Melaka, followed by a Claytonites food trip around Malaysia. Last year's was my first convy, and I must say that my eyes were opened to more of God, and His work through OCF. This year's is especially important because it is the 50th anniversary. I believe heritage is important; I'm unsure as to what this convy will be like, but I believe it'll be amazing to see generations of OCFers gather together – those who have gone before us and are still faithful till today; I'm expecting it to be very inspiring! If you're hesitant on whether you should go or not, have a chat with those who've gone before – people like Ivie, Bernard, Eugene, Sue Ann, Glenda, Yasmeen, Voon, myself and quite a few others! It's worth going for. Check out http://ocfconvention.org/ for details. Sign up soon with Sue Ann (sueann_y@yahoo.com), our convy rep, because reg is closing soon.
Okiedokes, thank you for your attention everyone :) Look forward to seeing you all on Friday!
:) Love, Faith!

Countdown to E-night: 4 Days!
HAHHHHHHHHHHHHLOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :D
How is everyone coping with Mondayitis/Tuesdayitis? Personally, I'm just really, really, really, REALLY looking forward to the weekend... I need a break. (Apparently I'm not allowed to tell you any grandmother stories here, so if you see me I'll be glad to cast all my burdens on you in a thirteen-hour saga.) But there are no rules against singing, so: You are my strength, strength like no other...
Okay, enough small talk already and lemme announce some stuff lah. :)
-
I bet you already know this, but for the blur ones out there, there's mid-week prayer on WED, 1-2pm, at the Campus Center Piano Room 1. Feel free to drop by, even if just for 10 minutes! I really think there's no replacement to resting in God's presence, and being in fellowship with each other through prayer. So, come lah... it'll be good, I promise! :)
If I told you Mel, Mornique, Xuan Qi, Isaac, Calvin and Amanda were working very hard, along with our awesome and faithfully available team for E-night this week, doing rehearsals and other behind-the-scenes stuff, would that inspire you to invite someone along for this Friday? If I told you that falling on your knees in prayer and crying out for the salvation of your friends was worth it, would that move you to ask God for more, for the lives of all your unsaved friends and family? What would it mean for you, personally, to see all that happening? E-night is on THIS FRIDAY, 7pm @ Banquet Room (Campus Center). (Note: This will replace the usual OCF meeting at Rotunda.)
Attention everybody! I know some of us, especially of the female variety, will have probably bought and hoarded stuff we've never really used, or needed, at all. And I hereby announce the solution to all your hoarding problems: FILL-THE-BOX! The Northern Territory mission trip people need your help - anything ranging from girl accessories, sports equipment, bibles and more! (Wow, doesn't this ad convince you now...). Do take note that clothes will not be accepted due to hygiene reasons, that may or may not be related to your own. Bring the stuff to E-night and pass it to Ivie. Oh, and Faith says it's not really nice to take a half-empty box all the way there, although it's "half-full" if you think about it more optimistically.
-
On one last note, I just want to encourage all of you to especially uplift E-night, and all its workings, to God in prayer every day of this week. Let's see God work through the faith we have in His promises, and what He can do with such an event like this one. With that I'm just gonna leave you one of my favourite passages of prayer.
Luke 11: 5-10 (NLT): Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him,‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
I often wonder how shamelessly persistent I should be, especially in praying for the salvation of my unsaved family and friends. Let's press on, together ;)
God bless you.
Love,
Charis :)

Many many things :D
Hello folks!
How did the weekend go? I'm in the midst of doing some assignments now. You know, it gets SO HARD to start sometimes – and we procrastinate (facebook is a great tool for distraction). But once you get started, whee – it feels good to be accomplishing stuff you're supposed to do!
Announcements
E-night: Playing on broken strings
12 days to E-night! Remember what Chee Kai shared about on Friday? He shared the story of Elisha and the widow – keep bringing those vessels in! And God will fill them!
Darwin missions trip: fill-the-box
Bring sports equipment, girl accessories, anything! To fill-the-box which we'll be bringing to Darwin to bless the people there with! If you're unsure of what you can give, well, it's almost anything! You can contact Ivie :D
OCF this week
UNITED prayer: Mon 14 Sep, 5-7pm, R6
Know what UNITED is? It's basically this Christian movement in school whereby the Christian clubs gather together. We look forward to combining efforts to do stuff in school that will lift God's name high! Right now, we're doing that through prayer, where we knock on "heaven's doors" to intercede for our campus! We've had about 3 such meetings, and the next one is tmr.
Please do try to make it if you can, even if just for part of it. Even if no one else will intercede for this campus where we've been placed, let's be the ones who will say - I will stand in the gap. So maybe see you tmr!
OCF Prayer: Wed, 1-2pm, Piano rooms at campus center basement
Another prayer thing! Hm. Why do we pray? Why should we pray? Among a host of other reasons, let me share two reasons why I pray – 1. I believe prayer works! 2. Prayer brings me closer to Christ.
If you want to draw closer to God but find prayer a hard discipline to master, then ask God for help :) Ask Him to give you a heart and belief for prayer! And determine to want to pray.
1 John 5:14-15 says, This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.
OCF: Fri, 7pm, R3
Be there or be square! :D Haha. We're continuing our Bible Study on Ephesians. This week, we're gonna look at how to live as "children of light"! And we might have another interesting presentation from the team going to Darwin... :D
Okiedokes, be good everyone. And remember that God is your strength.
See you soon!
In His love, Faith!

Deep and wide
Hey champions!
Some more mid-week thoughts coming your way! =) are we all surviving through our uni work and studies? NO! coz i believe that God did not redeem us merely to be survivors, but to be MORE THAN CONQUERORS. conquering our tutes, assignments, difficult mates, rotten circumstances, anything and everything! -Romans 8
A PRAYER
Dear Father,
Come.
Into our lives and into our hearts once again.
In the midst of emptiness, surround us with Your presence.
In our moment of fear, embrace us with Your love.
In our moment of our weakness, reach out with Your grace.
This amazing grace that flows from Your nailed hands,
the grace that brings us home someday.
We love You Lord Jesus.
Amen.

See, His hands are SO HUGE that even when we run the furthest away from Him, He is still holding us in the palm of His hands. no escape! isn't that comforting? =)
Love you people,
and stay awesome for our awesome God,
Ivie =)

Week seven (eleven it's a store and more!) :P
Hello there!
It's midway through week 7 and it means we've made it through the halfway mark of this semester! Even if you are stressed out or burdened by a huge workload, assignments or tests, just remember that God will be there with you every step of the way. Just like how Jesus healed sick person after sick person, performed miracles after miracles, He will never tire or stop being in the midst of your situation. Psalm 48:14 reminds us that 'this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end'. So hang on there and let God bring you through.
Friday OCF
OCF will be on this Friday as usual. 7pm at R3. We'll be continuing our study of Ephesians, so come prepared with Bibles & pens, and most importantly an open heart to hear God's word! Prayer is on before OCF at 620pm so come and stand united in prayer.
E-night
A reminder that our very own E-night will be on 25 September (Fri). Watch out for more info, and flyers that you can pass along to a friend. Start praying for friends whom you will invite.
Missions
We've got our mission trip to Belyuen in Northern Territory during the mid-sem holidays. This week, we're launching our 'Fill-the-Box' campaign. Bring something that our team can bless the community with. Not to forget, you can sponsor an awesome plaque to be given to the people in Belyuen as well!
Looks like we've got quite a lot happening in the run-up to the mid-sem holidays. Be excited about what OCF is doing, because YOU are part of this family too!
Have a good Thursday & Friday, and I shall see you this Friday! Don't be late! ;)
With God's love,
Eugene

week 6 y'all!!!
Hello there fellow OCF-ers!! It's week 6 and I don't know about you, but I'm mighty excited cos we're almost half way through the semester! Time flies =D Uber fast.
Anyway, I'm guessing most of us are fussing over mid-semester tests and assignments now (and for the next few weeks to come!) but let us lay down every worry, every doubt, every assignment, every test before Him who cares for us.
Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
That is God's promise to us and we can be sure that He will keep to it. So cheer up and be encouraged!!
This week in OCF *drum roll*
Bible Study #3
Yup, we'll be continuing our study on the book of Ephesians so do come prepared and expectant! Oh and of course, don't forget that we have prayer at 6.20pm every Friday before OCF. (R3)
Weekly Prayer
Weekly prayer is on every Wednesday (tomorrow!!!) from 1-2 pm in one of the piano rooms. Do come and join us in prayer if you can make it =) If even for just a short while.
E-Night 2009
Woo! Who else is excited about E-Night?? I've got my hands waving about in the air frantically! E-Night's only 1 mth away guys, and the committee needs all the help they can get. Interested? Speak to any one of the E-Night comm members to see how you can do your bit! God has been faithful from the first E-Night ever held a few years back and every year, He continues to amaze us. Let us not forget that this is about Him, and let us not take His faithfulness for granted! Continue to keep E-Night in your prayers; that God's name may be glorified on that day =]
Alritey then! See you all on Friday and have a blessed remainder of the week!!
Love,
Ming!

Week 5 - Harro taro!
Harro taro!
What is taro? It's something like yam. Okay it's random and I don't always make sense so you can ignore that :D
We're in the middle of week 5 and wow – okay... it's week 5 ALREADY! Hopefully no one's lagging too far behind in school work. If you are, it's a good time to catch up (so I say to myself :P), especially with mid-sem tests approaching (I'm here to be your nagging mother ha ha).
Last week we went to Melb City for OCF, followed by pizza and pasta on Lygon Street! The week before, we watched a video by evangelist Reinhart Bonnke. Was it good enough for you guys to remember? :P It was an enactment of the story of the Prodigal Son in the Bible. At the end, Reinhart Bonnke spoke about the matchless message of Christ, saying, Our arms of love are the only arms He has to use on earth. Our hands become His hands. And our voice, His voice. We have been given the greatest privilege of all – to proclaim the matchless message.
Did/Does that challenge you in any way?
E-night (25 Sep) is fast approaching – about 36 days more! It is my prayer that we will not become absorbed with just the technicalities, but keep in view what this is ultimately about – proclaiming the matchless message of Christ's love which is freely available for all. May God continually mould each of our hearts; like David, let's ask God to restore to us the joy of salvation if we have forgotten it (Psalm 51:12), and rejoice that our names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20).
And then, sharing Christ will be an overflow of our lives. Surely we'll make an IMPACT then! :)
Some announcements...
OCF this Friday, 7pm, Rotunda 3
We're having Bible Study in cell groups this week, continuing on the book of Ephesians! Do have a read of Ephesians 2 and ask God what He wants to teach you through that chapter. Also, join us for prayer at 6.20pm before that!
NPMM Booklet
That's National Prayer and Missions Month. Remember the booklet was sent out about 2 weeks ago? Is anyone using it? At least, do pray for the country you were "assigned" to alright? That is, if you believe prayer works :D I'm attaching it in this email again just in case.
Okiedokes, see you soon!
You are very loved, you know that! Jesus loves you. Jesus likes you!
In His love,
Faith! (:

Week 3 in a flash!
Hello folks!
Welcome to the new people in this email loop! That's Shannon, Chrystal, Kong Chian, Kenneth, Jingwen and Nicole! (:
It's week 3 of school for most of us and whee - where did all that time go? Whizzed by pretty quickly man. I wasn't around last week for OCF, but I heard it was good and you guys enjoyed doing Bible Study in the Rotunda! Here's this week in a flash...
Prayer, Wednesday, 1-2pm, Piano room
That's tomorrow! It'll be a fixed slot from now onwards for the rest of the semester. If you believe in the power of prayer, do come join us to be part of those standing in the gap through prayer! We'll be at the one of the piano rooms in the Campus Center's basement.
OCF on Friday, 7pm, Rotunda 3
It's going to be something different from the usual! Basically we're launching OCF's National Prayer and Missions Month (NPMM) – what's that all about? Do you know the missionaries Clayton supports? How can I be the hands and feet of God through prayer and missions?
A quote by Lesslie Newbigin to reflect upon: '[Mission then becomes] a kind of doxology, a glorifying of God in the midst of a world that turns its back on him... I think that the only thing that can make the gospel credible, the only thing that makes it possible to believe that the ultimate authority over the whole universe resides in a man nailed to the cross, is a company of people who live in the biblical story so that they know it as their own story and as the clue to the whole human story.’
Do have a think about that quote :)

Sneak preview of week two
Hey beloved friends,
How are all of you doing? Hope we're all chugging along and getting some momentum already? It's good being back in Melbourne after 3 weeks of holidays in the Beautiful Land of Klang! Nice fresh air, good roads without potholes, polite citizens.. But but BUT, above and beyond all, it's good to be back in the warm fellowship of the OCF Family. =) If you agree say Amen! *Amen*
SNEAK PREVIEW OF WEEK TWO
OCF PRAYER - Wednesday, 11.30 - 12.30 pm, Piano Room (Campus Centre Basement)
Let's be people who cover our friends in prayer. Jesus said, "Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you". Wanna receive? Ask. Want a direction? Seek. And let's get together to do just that!
OCF on FRIDAY - 7.00 pm, Rotunda 3
We're starting our first Bible Study on Ephesians this week! Woo hoo! Hop on for an amazing journey of discovery of what God has to say to each one of us through this letter. For those with pre-believer friends, please do bring them along too! DG is always here to make them feel welcomed and loved.
That's for this week. but we're looking forward to an AWESOME semester ahead together - marching into it ready to claim God's promises for us! In the words of God for Joshua,
"Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged,
for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
(Joshua 1:9)
See you bright and early!
Stay awesome,
ivie
