It truly was fantastic having you with us! Looking forward to knowing each and every one of you more personally soon! And I hope Week 3 is treating everyone well. Remember to take care of your health, eat well and healthyand drink loads of fluids! It's getting cold, and the assignments will be pouring in soon. So, your health is very important, yeah?

So, read all the way to the end so you will not miss out on what OCF Clayton has in store for you this wonderful week!

Oh! And to all the Singaporeans...HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!!

So, here's what we have in store for you this week!

*****************************************************************************************************************************************************
1. NPMM Meeting
As most of you might already know, this month is NATIONAL PRAYER AND MISSION MONTH, and is observed by all the OCF centers from all over Australia. So, this Friday, OCF will not gather in Rotunda as usual, but instead will be joining with all the OCF centers in Victoria for a combined meeting in Swinburne University in the city! This is the time where we get to see the bigger picture of what OCF is actually about, and where we can find out more about missions work and spend time in prayer for the countries, other OCF centers as well as the missionaries OCF has been supporting over the years. There will be a panel of people heavily involved in missionary work all over the world, who will be available to answer any questions you may have in the field of missions, including Aunty Merrilyn, whom we have grown to know and love during her time with us last Friday!

When?: Friday, 12 Aug '11
Where?: Swinburne University
What time?: 6.45pm SHARP - 9.30pm

If transport if your concern, don't worry. Your cell leaders will contact you within the week. And if you do not have a cell, also do not worry, becauseSOMEONE will contact you during the week. So stay close to your phones! It will be an exciting time to spend together, where we can not only just bond as a center, but to also look beyond the little world of our center, and know the greater work that OCF as a whole has been involved in, and to also tap into the wealth of knowledge that will be available to us that night. So, see you there! :)

P/S Don't forget to print out the NPMM booklet, or else Isaac will whack you! :p A lot of effort was put into compiling it, so do bring it along with you, and we'll all go through the booklet together on Friday!

2. Sports!!
It's cold. We hardly sweat. All the toxins are stuck in our bodies! So, join us for sports! Haha. We have badminton, futsal and basketball lined up and organised. All you have to do is join us and have fun in fellowship and friendly competition with one another! For more information, these are the people you can contact! Let them know if you're interested, and they'll let you know when the next game is scheduled for! :)

3. Missionary Me!
And here's a short word from your Missions Coordinator!

"This Saturday, Aunty Merrilyn will be talking about doing missions in everyday life. It's a cliche and yes, you've heard it many times before, about missions being at your doorstep and what not. But how often do we actually act on it? This talk will go very well together with OCF's theme for this semester - OUTREACH.

Missions isn't just for that missionary who is willing to give up the comfort of his/her home for somewhere distant. Missions isn't just for that person who has a full time calling. Mission is for US.

Hope that this will help us internalize the call for missions in our daily lives. :)"

So, do join us for this MISSIONARY ME! For those of us who attended the Outreach Training last Tuesday in R3, this is also part of your training for outreach. So, do join us as we learn together, yeah?

Date: Saturday, 13 Aug '11
Time: 12-2pm SHARP
Venue: R3, Rotunda

There will also be a Q&A session at 2pm over light refreshments where you can ask Aunty Merrilyn about anything you desire on the topic of missions. Let's really make full use and tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience that she has in the area. How often do we have someone with that much intense passion bottled into one person? It's rare. So, don't miss out!

4. Mid-Week Prayer
Mid-week prayer has also resumed for the semester! This semester, the focus on prayer will revolve around the idea of SPECIFICITY IN PRAYER. It's no longer about praying general and vague prayers, but to learn to pray for specific things. Again, prayer will also revolve around the theme of outreach, where we intentionally and specifically pray for people that God has impressed upon our hearts, and learn to seek God on what we should pray for for these people.

Just like what Aunty Merrilyn said last week, "Spend time in prayer so that we're in constant communication with Him, and so that we will know when He calls us to speak a specific word at a specific time, to the specific person."

Let's develop that lifestyle of prayer, amen? :)

When? Every Wednesday
Where? Prayer Room 1, Campus Center basement, under Meeting Point
What time? 3-4pm

Join us!

Hmmmmm...I think I've gone on for long enough! It's super cold! I swear, my fingers are frozen solid. Brrrrrrrrr...But oh well! Have an awesome week ahead, all of you! Hope to bump into you guys in uni sometime. And remember to remain in close communion with Him, because we all know that that is what He desires. He wants to be in communion with us, so how can we ever say no, yeah?

See all of you at NPMM on Friday!!

Loads and loads of ,
Jo :)
