Hello to sem two!

Hello dear OCFers!

Was getting back grades for sem one shocking for anyone? Haha. How did the past two weeks of holidays go by for you? Hopefully, you had fun and are well rested, all ready to start a new semester!

The day after Winter Camp (how many of you were blessed by it! Big round of applause to the comm and GOD!), some of us packed our bags and flew off the Sydney for Hillsong conference, which was good! The trip was fun, but now I'm thinking - oh no, school's starting in just two days! I am so not ready! On the other hand, I'm also glad for the semester to start - new beginnings, new things - what is God going to do this sem? In sem two, we're having stuff like E-night and mission trips - loads to participate in to make an IMPACT on our Clayton campus! So hey, let's get excited ya?

For the next week, what's happening:

Orientation
21 July, Tuesday, 11am - 3pm
We have a booth at the campus center, so do pop by to help and at least say hello if you can! It's a time
to take the very first step of REACHING OUT to fellow students, especially new ones who might be feeling a bit lost, or finding a Christian club, or looking for some place to call "home" and "family"! So come be a part of reaching out yeps? If you can be there, do let me know (chinzjinghui@gmail.com/0422152040).

Welcome night
24 July, Friday, 7pm
Friday night OCF starts again! Yay! More details on this coming soon :D

Play hard these last two days, and get some good sleep before school starts on Monday! And one more thing - something to share:

One of the things I've been asking God recently is - God, how can I be aligned with your purposes for OCF Clayton next semester? What do you want me to do? And I've been taking time to listen. I encourage you to do the same. Our theme verse says -

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind.
To release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour" (Luke 4:18-19).

Sometimes this might sound a bit extreme - proclaim freedom for prisoners? Proclaim recovery of sight for the blind? But do take a look at every day life; in essence, these verses are saying - God is with me. How may I shine His light?

Perhaps take some time to ask and listen - God, what did you put me in Melbourne, in Clayton, for? How can I be Your "hands and feet", to make an IMPACT for your kingdom?

In His gracious love,
Faith (:
See you soon!
